No, all training happens virtually through Zoom or FaceTime. Your dog is so accustomed to technology that it won’t bat an eye at a talking phone or laptop, providing us the ability to see how your dog acts without our presence causing distraction. This approach allows us to model techniques and correct your form while providing you the biggest advantage: Your dog is learning from YOU. This means that you are earning your dog’s respect and you are learning the skills you need to create permanent results in your dog’s training.
Why In-Home Dog Training with the trainer visiting in person is not ideal:
No, we believe that separating the dog from the owner for training is the wrong approach and can be a costly mistake for two main reasons: Your dog’s temperament plays a vital role in what effect being completely severed from you, its home or den, and all things familiar will have: Some dogs are completely traumatized by the experience - even despite the attentive care of the trainer. Your dog may be kept in a crate for extended periods of time when not actively training and, as a result, may become depressed and stop eating. The other major issue with boarding and training is the fact that you, the owner, are not involved in the training. When the dog listens to the trainer, will that mean the dog will listen to you? Your dog may very well learn to respect the trainer, but unless the dog learns to also respect you, the obedience will never transfer to you and all gains made during “bootcamp” will soon be lost.

Pet stores, parks, and boarding facilities are all fundamentally flawed for dog training. They all contain new smells, distractions, and visual stimuli. It’s no wonder your dog can’t focus. Even if you bring a trainer into your home to teach your dog, now your dog has to acclimate to a new person in its den which can cause excitement, anxiety, aggression, or a mixture of these emotions—all of which are not ideal states of mind to be in for learning. You must be an unquestioned authority in your dog’s eyes. To establish this role, you must educate your dog in its native language. You should not have to say sit five times before your dog complies nor should your dog get back up before you give permission.
Yes, our training programs are structured to allow you to easily upgrade to the next level of training once you are finished with your current course. To move on to the next level in training, you only have to pay the difference in price between the training courses.
You will meet with your trainer 2-3 times per week depending on your availability. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule - evening and weekend sessions are available. The training sessions are about an hour long. In addition, you should plan in about 30 minutes each day for “homework” to practice with your dog dog in between training sessions.The Proper Pack Behavior training course, which is the foundation for all other training programs, typically takes about 5-6 weeks to complete. But you should see a significant improvement in your dog’s behavior after just a handful of sessions.
